Sean gave his first talk in primary today. Mom was much more nervous than Sean, but he did great! He talked about how prayer strengthens him and our family. I wish all talks I were responsible for could be that short and simple.
Much to our surprise and pleasure, Sean was very enthusiastic about getting up and speaking in front of the primary. My shy little boy stood right up there and said every word loud and clear. Lately he's been in speach therapy, occupational therapy, seeing lots of Dr.'s for his developmental challenges, going to social classes and even attending summer preschool all in hopes of helping him overcome his specific challenges.
I just have to say that it was wonderful to see that all of the driving around we are doing and the crazy busy schedule we keep for him is actually helping. When it was his turn to take the stand he didn't even flinch. He walked right up there and even looked everyone in the eye while he spoke! Huge accomplishment for a kid who avoids eye contact at all costs!
Dare I say, I am so proud of him! Or as Sean puts it, "Mom is so super duper proud of me!"
